APMP with Prior Learning - 3 days training + Exam
Overview
APMP is the qualification for anyone who has worked within project management for up to two years, such as project office personnel, team members, or recently appointed project officers, or for anyone who has recently taken on project management responsibilities as part of their job.
APMP (IPMA Level D) is a knowledge based foundation level qualification enabling participation in projects from individual assignments through to large capital projects.
For the same fee of £995 delegates may enrol on the three-day course or any of the full five-day or modular APMP courses.
The three-day course concentrates on those aspects of the APMP syllabus excluded from PRINCE2. For more details see the FAQs and the January 2010 White Paper by Graham Williams entitled "APMP for PRINCE2 Practitioners" - it is on the OGC Best Management Practice website at http://www.best-management-practice.com .
What is assessed?
The APMP assessment involves one two-hour written essay-based paper - only 25 of the 37 topics in the APMP syllabus are examined as 12 topics are deemed as prior learning from PRINCE2.
APMP assesses the candidate's breadth of knowledge in all areas of project management, from strategic and commercial implications, to the technical, organisational, and people management skills required to participate effectively within a project team. Further details such as syllabus, candidate guidance notes and a sample paper can be downloaded from the APM website.
This qualification allows candidates to demonstrate knowledge of all elements of project management in order to assist in the management of projects. Candidates with this qualification will be able to demonstrate an understanding of how these elements interact. They will also be able to understand how their project fits into their strategic and commercial environment.
